We are building something that does not yet exist: a global, private network for detecting, preventing, and responding to whale strandings. Founding supporters make the building possible.
SNM is a small, independent, privately-run initiative — not a charity, and not asking for donations.
We are asking a smaller number of people to help lay the foundation: the legal setup, the technology,
and the infrastructure that will let these parallel global systems operate properly and accept ordinary card payments.
What founding support builds

The legal structure. Establishing the organisation as a proper legal entity so it can hold partnerships, accept normal payments, and stand on its own footing.

Real membership payments. The single biggest reason for this page. Right now we can only receive crypto. Founding support pays for the entity and payment processing that let supporters pay by card — the moment that is live, this page goes away.

The technology. The noninvasive satellite tag and the stranding database — the tools that prove rescued whales survive, which is what the entire system rests on.

The groundwork for rescue. The protocols, the training material, and the partnerships that turn "someone should do something" into a team that actually deploys.
A straight word about why it's crypto
We'd far rather offer you a simple card payment — and that's exactly what your support pays for. Two honest reasons we use crypto right now: a small team without a registered entity cannot open ordinary payment processing, so crypto is the only channel open to us until the structure exists; and because the people behind SNM work in a field with powerful entrenched interests, keeping the founders private is a genuine protection while the initiative is small.
This is the bootstrap stage, not the destination. Help us through it, and card-based membership is the first thing we build.
Your support carries forward
Founding supporters aren't one-time donors who get nothing back. When proper membership launches, the people who backed us first will be recognised first — with Founding Member status and credit toward membership.
Keep your transaction ID. Every crypto payment has a transaction ID (a TXID — a long string your wallet app shows after you send). Save it. When card membership goes live, you'll submit that TXID to claim Founding Member status and have your early support credited toward membership — proof you were here at the start, without us ever needing your name.
We can't promise an exact figure yet, because the membership tiers don't exist yet — that's the honest truth of building from scratch. What we can promise is that early support will be honoured generously and visibly when the time comes.

Common Questions
Is this a donation? Is it tax-deductible?+
No. SNM is a private initiative, not a registered charity, so this is not a tax-deductible donation. It is founding support for an organisation being built, closer to backing a project than giving to a charity. Please treat it that way.
Why crypto and not a card?+
Because a small team without a registered legal entity cannot set up ordinary card processing yet — and setting that up is one of the main things your support pays for. Crypto is the only door open to us at this stage.
I've never used Bitcoin. Is it complicated?+
Not really. If you can order something online, you can do this. The steps above walk you through every tap, it takes about two minutes, and you don't need to understand how Bitcoin works — the app handles it. You're simply using an app to send support.
What is the transaction ID and why keep it?+
After you send crypto, your wallet app shows a transaction ID (TXID) — a long unique string. It's a permanent receipt of your payment. Save it. When card-based membership launches, you'll be able to submit your TXID to claim Founding Member status and have your early support credited toward membership — without ever giving us your name.
How much should I give?+
Whatever feels right — there's no minimum. Even $5 or €5 adds up across many supporters. Cash App and Revolut let you buy very small amounts; you don't need to buy a whole coin.
Are there fees?+
Cash App and Revolut charge a small fee when you buy Bitcoin (usually 1–3%), and there's a small network fee to send (often under $1). So most of what you spend reaches us. We don't take any cut on our end.
